Biography
Xavi Richer Vis is a Toronto-based investigative data journalist. He specializes in computer-assisted reporting, using things like web scraping, natural language processing and data visualization to investigate governments and corporations. He's previously worked as a visuals content editor for The Globe and Mail, and as a reporter and newsroom coder for the Investigative Journalism Foundation. His work has also appeared in Wired, Canada's National Observer, TVO Today, The Breach, The West End Phoenix and other Canadian publications. He's a graduate of McGill University and Goldsmiths, University of London’s masters in computational journalism program.
