Biography
Valérie Ouellet is an award-winning investigative reporter based in Toronto. She uses her data analysis and coding skills to find and report on exclusive stories for the CBC News Investigative Unit. She has won an Amnesty International Media Award for documenting COVID cases in Canadian jails (2021) and a Dan McArthur Award for shedding light on Ontario’s broken school violence reporting system (2020). Her stories were finalists for the CAJ Data Journalism Award multiple times. She has a Master of Journalism degree from the University of King's College in Halifax (2015).
