Biography

Briana Linton is a Knowledge Translation Officer at the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC), where she works within the Communications Department. Since joining FNIGC in 2020, Briana has contributed significantly to the organization's mission, initially gaining experience in the IM/IT and Research and Information departments as a student. In 2022, she transitioned to her current role, where she specializes in translating complex health data and information into accessible formats for First Nations across Canada. Her work supports the well-being and empowerment of First Nations communities across Canada by ensuring that valuable data and insights are effectively communicated. Briana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Public Health from the University of Waterloo. Originally from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, and a proud member of Muskoday First Nation, Briana now resides in Calgary, Alberta, with her partner and Boston Terrier, Rupert. Her commitment to optimizing health outcomes for Indigenous communities is reflected in her work and contributions to the advancement of First Nations data sovereignty and well-being.
